LEP:  Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient (LEP) Students

Title III-LEP is intended to ensure that all LEP students attain English proficiency, develop high levels of academic attainment in English and meet the same challenging state academic standards as all other children. Funding is based on the number of LEP children identified in the district. Funds are allocated to each site based on EL numbers at the school. Funds can be spent on: Certificated Salaries, Travel and Conference, Classified Salaries, Consultant Services, and Books and Supplies.

Immigrant Education Program

The Title III sub-grant is based on the total enrollment of eligible immigrant students as reported on the spring Student National Origin Report (SNOR). Students who were born outside of the US and have not been attending school in any one or more state for more than three year are included in the report. Family literacy, support personnel, tutorials, materials and other instructional services that are designed to assist immigrant children are items covered by this grant.
