Counseling Services
The School Counseling Program at the K-8 level of education addresses the personal, social, emotional and academic needs of all students. The role of the school counselor is to counsel, consult and collaborate with students, parents, staff and administration. School Counselors deliver school-wide counseling core guidance lessons to all students using the Second Steps Social Emotional Learning curriculum. School Counselors also provide responsive services to identified students based on specific needs.
LUSD follows the American School Counselor Association National Model which ensures equitable access to a rigorous education that is provided to all students in a systematic fashion by a state credentialed school counselor.
Counselors are available at all sites. All subjects discussed are kept confidential unless the student requests or consents to the inclusion of another interested person or as required by mandating reporting laws.
