Substitute Teacher Qualifications
Once cleared through MCOE, please complete the following requirements:
- Complete an application on Edjoin to request to be on our sub calling system (Frontline)
To substitute for Livingston Union School District, all of the following must be completed:
- Complete application
- Clearance through Merced County Office of Education (MCOE). For clearance information and application, please visit the MCOE website.
- Possess a valid 30 day-Substitute Permit or Valid Teaching Credential
- Fingerprint Clearance (processed through MCOE)
- Copy of TB Clearance
- Copy of Mandated Reporter Training Certification dated after 7/1 of the current school year.
- Copy of Sexual Harassment training that is SB1343 compliant.
Only candidates with complete applications will be considered. Scarlette Melendez will contact prospective candidates to onboard as an LUSD Certificated Substitute.

NOTE: We will not add new substitute teachers after April 30th. If you sign up after the April 30 deadline, you will be added to the list in August of the following school year.
SUB RATES FOR REGULAR CERTIFICATED TEACHER
Effective March 1, 2024
Full Day: $180 per day for short term
Full Day: $200 per day for long term assignments effective the 1st day of the assignment
Half Day: $ 90 per day
SUB RATES FOR EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT TEACHER
Full Day: $165.76 per day (8 Hrs)
Half Day: $ 82.88 per half-day (4 Hrs)
Hourly: $ 20.72 per hour
