ENGAGING PARENTS IN EDUCATION

Welcome to the LUSD Parent Resource Center. Below are many upcoming opportunities to help parents support their child's education. Research shows that the academic achievement of a child is directly related to the level of parent's involvement in the child's education.
 
LUSD offers a series of classes and workshops at the district where parents and families can learn various skills that will benefit their child's education. We strongly encourage and welcome parents to participate in the following workshops:

ROSETTA STONE

Provides practical solutions for parents that strengthen and help parents improve their parenting skills, learn to discipline with firmness and kindness, help your child feel a sense of belonging and significance through mutual respect and encouragement.

NUTRITION CLASS       

Good nutrition begins at home. This class teaches parents how to raise healthy and happy eaters by learning how to plan nutritious meals.

Learn basic internet skills, create a google email account, access parent resources through the school website, access your child's grades in AERIES and learn about social media and how it works.

ABRIENDO PUERTAS 1
This workshop series focuses on supporting parents with children ages 0-5 in their roles as family leader and as their child's first and most influential teacher. You will learn the importance of early childhood development and reading to your child at an early age.
