Immunizations

By law, children in California are required to receive certain immunizations in order to attend public and private elementary and secondary schools. Schools are required to enforce immunization requirements, maintain immunization records of all children enrolled, and submit reports.

The following provides information on the immunizations that are required for students in grades TK - 12.

7th GRADE SCHOOL ENTRY REQUIREMENT - TDAP BOOSTER

All students entering, advancing or transferring into 7th grade in California must be immunized with a pertussis (also known as whooping cough) vaccine booster call Tdap. Proof of immunization will need to be provided to the school office prior to starting school.

Where can my child get the Tdap Booster?
Children should visit their regular doctor or health care provider to get their Tdap booster and other immunizations as soon as possible to avoid the back-to-school rush.  Medi-cal, CHDP, Healthy Families and most private insurances cover the cost of immunizations.
